Robert Allen was born Robert Allen Gober Jr, August 28th of 1980, in Amarillo Texas. He was transplanted to Enid Oklahoma around the age of 1, where he has remained as a resident. His ear for music was discovered at a young age. His parents put him in piano lessons at the age of 10 where he excelled quickly. He played trumpet in elementary and middle school band where he was also involved in choir. At the age of 14, he received his first acoustic guitar where he found his love of writing music. He was a member of Oklahoma kids until the age of 16, and was also a member of the Enid Opry. It wasn’t until the age of 31 where music really became a big part of his life. He joined a church and found a passion for worship. He soon became an ordained minister and worship pastor. He lead worship, played guitar and drums for a few local churches. After 5 years, Rob stepped away from leading worship and left the love of music behind. It took a few years when he decided to put himself out in the public eye and try his hand at being an entertainer. After his first public performance….. he was hooked and started booking more shows. Within 6 months, he co-founded the Robert Allen Band, right at the beginning of Covid. With venues shut down, there was plenty of time to practice, build a show, and write music. It didn’t take long for them to be recognized as one of the best Red Dirt Country bands in NW Oklahoma. They were members of TCMA and ISSA and award nominees through both organizations with a couple of their original songs. Throughout their 3 years as a band, they cut an album, ran across the road through Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas building the RAB Brand, and had the privilege of opening for Corey Kent and Sara Evans. But as most bands know…. Life on the road is tough. Robert decided to step away from the band life and stepped back into being a solo entertainer. He has performed over 400+ gigs in the last 5.5 years while holding down a full-time job in the oilfield. He prides himself on playing a wide variety of music along with originals. He also offers DJ and Karaoke Services. You will always find him with his beautiful wife Cheri in tow along with his parents occasionally. Cheri and Rob share 9 kids together, 3 pups, and have 7 grandkids.
